One Thimble issue 18 is out! One Thimble is a digital sewing magazine full of great articles, tutorials, tips and PDF patterns. I found out about OT on issue #5, I can't believe it's already issue 18!
I am joining today the official OT Blog Tour with Abby's Ballerina Tie Top. I have also made the Origami Sweater, which has been blogged already (you can see it here).
Pattern:
Abby's Ballerina Tie Top, pattern by The Wolf and The Tree.
Fabric:
- Prize Garden 100% organic cotton interlock knit, Sidewalk collection by Rae Hoekstra (Made by Rae) for Cloud 9 Fabrics. I have already used this knit here, on a self drafted girls' knit dress. It is the.best.knit I have ever sewn. Love it!
- Black rib, from my local fabric shop.

Pattern & Sewing Details:
Abby's Ballerina Tie Top is a fitted knit top with two ties around the waist. It offers the following options:
- regular t-shirt neckband or cowl
- several sleeve lengths: long sleeve, 3/4 sleeve, medium sleeve, short sleeve or sleeveless.
It is available in sizes 12 months to 14 years, and...there is a women's version too!
I have made a size 7 for this skinny 9 year old, and have opted for short sleeves. Spring/Summer season is almost here and I am already planning my kids SS18 wardrobe.
This top is a quick & easy sew! Perfect for beginners. The end result looks so cute on girls!

So many interesting things to read, right? I haven't purchased this issue yet (tour bloggers get one or two patterns, not the full magazine, so I'll have to buy it too and I'll definitely will because I do love this digital magazine), and I am looking forward to read "Trending Fabrics", "Rebranding your business" (although I do not own a sewing business I am always thinking about changing this blog's name... no genius ideas for a new name came to my mind yet...), and also "Graphic Design".
And here is a sneak peek of all the patterns included:
As I said before, I have made the Origami sweater as part of the pattern testing period. I absolutely love it and totally recommend this pattern! You can read all about my version here.
