The Fawn Lily dress

This is the last pattern by Willow & Co. from their debut collection (the Wanderlust), to be released today (yay!), that I will be sharing with you.
(Well, from those I have tested, because I will be sharing the rest once the collection is launched and I get to buy all the others!)

This pattern is from Rebecca Holmes, from Rock The Stitch and there is something I have to say with all my heart - this is the most beautiful dress design I have seen in the indie patterns community.
(I am so sorry all other dress pattern designers, I love your designs too but I love this the most. That is the truth.)

Just look closely to that gorgeous (front and back) yoke... and the sleeves!... Amazing... Amazing... Amazing!... I-have-no-words.

The other great thing about the Fawn Lily (besides the design) is that it has so many wonderful options for customization! You can choose from: two different sleeve options (cap, pleated), two bodice options (cross-over or button yoke), three different skirt types (A-line, gathered and pleated), three skirt length options (tunic, above the knee dress length and below the knee) and two options for pockets (in-seam and patch)! Oh, and an optional use of piping!

Besides all these options you can have so many different looks just by "playing" with different fabric prints or color blocks for the pattern pieces, such has the sleeves, front yoke, back yoke and skirt. You can have a look at mine, for instance: I used the same fabric for the back yoke and sleeves creating a "bolero"/shrug look! See below what other testers made to get inspired! There are so many options!!

All seams are hidden so the Fawn Lily looks perfect in the inside too!

I was given the choice to make whichever options I wanted, so I opted for: A-line skirt, cross-over yoke, pleated sleeves, in-seam pockets, dress length.
I used a very light pink linen for the skirt and a contrasting cotton print for the yoke + sleeves and for the flat piping all around the yokes. I also added ruffles to the skirt bottom just because. :) I am planning to have her wearing this dress for a wedding in early June so I had to make a "red carpet" version of it. :)

This pattern is suitable for advanced beginner/ intermediate (just because one of the sleeve options has a somehow tricky step) but I can say it is an easy project to sew (easier than you could tell by its look I can assure you). The instructions are very very clear and easy to follow.

Please do take the time to have a look on my fellow testers dresses and tunics - they are all so awesome...
