Petit Oiseau

Hi! Today I am one of the stops for the Petit Oiseau tour. I love Mel's (Filles à Maman) patterns - they are some of the best out there - and I was so happy to join this blog tour showcasing her lovely newest pattern, the Petit Oiseau (that's French for little bird). My little (not so little anymore, blah...) ginger birdie loved her new sweater!

Pattern
Petit Oiseau, pattern by Filles à Maman.

Fabric
Medium-heavy double knit (it is almost like scuba knit) and navy blue interlock.

Details
This is dolman style shirt with asymmetrical decorative flounce with options for short or long sleeves.
It is a super quick sew! I made it in less than one hour with preps (taping+cutting) included.

The size range is great! It goes from 12 months to 14 years. All in one pattern!

The size chart puts her on a size 4 (which is normal, since although she is almost 7 she is really, really slim), but I decided to make a size 5 width and size 6 length since I wanted this piece to last longer. It is a sweater so I am okay that it looks a bit large on her.

She used it after the photo shoot, to go to her ballet classes and we got several compliments. That flounce is a wonderful and unique detail! I will be making more of these for sure! (and if you follow this blog you know that I don't repeat many patterns...)
